One of the things I LOVE abut living in Durban South Africa - is the rich influence of the Indian Culture. It means that I am able to source vintage saris to recycle and use for creating colourful new products!
This Sari Rope is made from thin tubes of vintage sari fabric, which are knotted and filled with glass marbles to make a colourful rope.
The shade on the length of the rope transforms from the sari border colours through to the main colour and back to the border colours and pattern again - making it's sari origins clear!
Worn around the neck it makes a striking necklace/scarf.
Fastens with a self fabric loop. The rope is approximately 32inces [83cm] long.
The rope would make a good decor item too - maybe a tie back!
